I use a Calrec S2 60 channel console in the studio which has incredibly musical EQ. The desk has 4 classic Calrec stereo compressors (assignable) and a Buss compressor on both main outputs. My monitoring is by Genelec, Yamaha and Adam and the AD/DA conversion is by SSL and RME.
The outboard equipment used is by brands such as Neve, API, Avalon, Crane Song, Empirical Labs, DBX, Universal Audio, Urei, Drawmer, Focusrite, Warm Audio and much more....There is also an extensive range of plugins available by Waves, UAD, Soundtoys, Brainworx, Slate, Antares and Melodyne.
I currently run Protools, Nuendo and Cubase for sessions.
I'm a record producer / recording studio engineer based in Harrogate, Yorkshire. I was brought up around music and it has been a part of my life for as long as i can remember. I took a keen interest in music and music production from an early age and by the time i was 12 i remember messing around with Cubase on my dad’s Atari 1040ST creating music. Since then i have gone on to produce numerous bands with radio play on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Introducing. I have worked with VEVO on their 'VEVO Live Go Shows' recording live performances for bands such as Imagine Dragons, Bring Me The Horizon and Twin Atlantic. I'm also part of a music production team with my Dad, Frank and Grammy nominated artist, composer and performer Miles Gilderdale, where we write and record music for Audio Network.

STUDIO RECORDING
I currently work from Reel Recording studio in York. In house there is a huge selection of mics and outboard equipment to choose from, along with an endless selection of plugins to suit your project. In the studio we have an amazing sounding live room, that give us the facility to capture a huge drum sound, and within minutes can but turned around and treated with professionally designed and built acoustic panels that will provide a much 'closer' focused sound. In the studio we have several drumkits (Yamaha 9000, Yamaha Birch Custom, Natal Cafe Racer), Bass Amps/Cabs (Trace Elliot, Ampeg, Ashdown, Eden, Acoustic, Hartke, SWR) Guitar Amps/Cabs (Peavey 5150 mk1, Orange Rockerverb 100, Fender Prosonic, Fender Vibrochamp, Fender Hotrod Deluxe, Selmer Treble and Bass 50, Roland Jazz Chorus 50)
LOCATION RECORDING
Depending on the requirement of your needs, i can supply a location system from a single lapel mic for an interview to a 64 multitrack system with a backup facility. These systems take up a tiny footprint and can be brought in to work seamlessly along side live sound engineers if you are wanting your live shows recorded. Alternatively i can bring a system to you, to turn your environment into a state of the art studio using digital recording technology and classic analogue equipment. I have supplied these systems for single person interviews for TV and Film recording, live touring bands, theatre shows, choirs of all sizes and acoustic artists.
MIXING & RE-MIXING
I have been working with Artists and Record Labels since 2005 as a mix engineer. Wether it be a job i have been selected for or i've been asked to remix a track that the artist or label isn't happy with, i will always treat each song as an individual project and my aim is to breath life and energy into the mix.
MUSICIANS
Whist some of you may be in a band, or you are in contact with a lot of musicians, that is not always the case for some people. I work very closely with singer/songwriters who want to take their songs and turn them into a full band arrangement/performance. I can source you the right musicians for your track, from drummers, bassists, guitarists, keys, brass sections, string players, vocals etc.....
VOICEOVERS & SHOWREELS
Together we can produce broadcast quality voiceovers in a purpose built isolation booth using mics such as Audiotechnica, Neumann, Sennheiser and Shure to ensure the right sound for your individual voice.
I can also create professional voice showreels, providing original scripts, written just for you, with custom music and sound effects where required.
Whatever your project, i can produce the audio. Be it commercial, corporate, narrative, tour guides, telephone audio, mobile apps, audio books or anything else.
